Car Accidents in Texas

A motor vehicle accident can change your life forever. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people are hospitalized every year with serious injuries that prevent them from working and leave them permanently disabled. Far too often, innocent people are hurt in accidents due to the reckless and negligent actions of others. After being hurt in a car crash, you have the ability to take legal action against the responsible party.

When to Take Action after a Crash

In Texas, it is important to act quickly after a car accident if you want to file a claim. The statute of limitations for personal injury claims in the state is typically two years from the date of the accident. This means that you have two years to file a claim seeking compensation for your injuries and damages.

However, it is crucial not to wait until the last minute to take action. It’s always best to start the process as soon as possible after an accident. This allows time to gather evidence, assess your injuries, and consult with an attorney if needed.

Filing a claim involves several steps, including gathering evidence such as police reports, medical records, and witness statements. You’ll also need documentation of any expenses related to the accident, like medical bills or repair costs.

It is in your best interest to seek legal representation from a skilled Texas car accident lawyer as soon as possible. Your attorney will be able to build a case on your behalf and fight for fair compensation.
