Auto Accidents in Texas

In 2022 alone, more than 15,299 people were left with serious injuries as a result of automobile accidents in Texas. The unfortunate truth is that the vast majority of these crashes were preventable. Leading factors in car crashes across our state include:

  • Failure to yield the right of way
  • Mechanical failures
  • Inexperienced drivers
  • Aggressive driving
  • Poor visibility
  • Driving under the influence of drugs

The unfortunate truth is that many people involved in accidents are left with severe injuries as a result of these and other acts of negligence. Being hurt in a bicycle crash can have an overwhelming impact on your life indefinitely. For this reason, it is only right that you are able to get justice.

Texas Comparative Negligence Laws

After being hurt in a car crash, you have the ability to file a personal injury claim against the responsible party. In Texas, comparative negligence laws play a critical role in a person’s ability to recover compensation following a car crash caused by another driver’s negligence.

In Texas, legal claims follow the modified comparative negligence system. This states that individuals must be less than 51 percent responsible for the accident in order to recover fair compensation. If they are found to be more than 51 percent at fault, they are not going to be able to recover compensation. This makes it important for victims to seek legal compensation from a Texas car accident lawyer right away. An attorney will be able to prove their case against the defendant and help you get the maximum amount of compensation possible.
