Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Texas

More than 12 people lose their lives as a result of automobile collisions in Texas every day. These accidents add up to thousands of lives being lost on our roadways. Even though fatal collisions are reported quite often, it is impossible to prepare for the overwhelming impact that one of these accidents can have on your family. We often see innocent people lose their lives in fatal collisions due to the negligent actions of others. When drivers do not operate their vehicles in a manner that is safe, it can have devastating consequences.

Leading Factors in Fatal Crashes

Some of the main causes of fatal collisions in Texas include:

  • Distracted driving: when drivers are texting or talking on their phones, they take their attention off the road ahead. This can lead to serious accidents that ultimately take the lives of innocent people. Unfortunately, we also see many drivers distracted by food, passengers, and even objects outside of their vehicles.
  • Speeding: every road in our state has a posted speed limit. These speeds are designed to allow drivers to safely travel through the area. When drivers go above and beyond the posted speed limit, it can have devastating consequences.
  • Drunk driving: drivers who operate their vehicle while under the influence are at significant risk of losing control and crashing into others. Impairment has a devastating impact on a person’s coordination, judgment, depth perception, ability to differentiate colors, and reaction time.
