Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Texas

In the year 2022, motorcycle crashes claimed the lives of 562 individuals in Texas alone. Unfortunately, approximately 39 percent of the motorcyclists who lost their lives in these incidents were not wearing helmets. This growing trend of innocent lives being lost due to fatal collisions, often resulting from the negligence of others, remains a concerning issue.

Many motorcycle accidents involve various forms of recklessness or negligence, such as speeding, distractions, impairment, and other human errors, which continue to contribute significantly to these fatal collisions. Coping with the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one in these circumstances is an incredibly challenging ordeal.

Initiating a Wrongful Death Lawsuit

In the aftermath of the abrupt and unforeseen loss of a loved one in a fatal collision, grieving families have the opportunity to take legal action against the responsible party. Filing a wrongful death claim is one of the most effective courses of action, offering financial relief to navigate through this challenging period. This legal avenue can secure compensation for funeral costs, burial expenses, and more.

To succeed in filing a wrongful death claim, it is essential to demonstrate negligence. Much like a personal injury claim, you must establish that the defendant owed a duty of care to your loved one, breached it, the breach led to the fatal accident resulting in your loved one’s demise, and you have suffered damages as a consequence. Collaborating with a wrongful death attorney enhances your chances of presenting a compelling case and obtaining justice.
