Common Myths Surrounding Car Crashes in Texas

You Don’t Need a Lawyer: While it’s feasible to manage a car accident claim independently, having a dedicated personal injury attorney can significantly improve the likelihood of obtaining full and fair compensation.

The At-Fault Party Will Cover Expenses Out of Pocket: In Texas, the majority of car accident claims are covered by insurance policies. Typically, the responsible party’s insurance company covers damages up to their policy limits. However, if their coverage is insufficient or nonexistent, pursuing a lawsuit against them directly may be necessary.

You Only Have One Year to File a Claim: Contrary to popular belief, the statute of limitations for filing a car accident lawsuit in Texas is generally two years from the incident date. It is essential not to wait, as the process of gathering evidence and constructing your case requires adequate time. You should seek legal representation from a car accident lawyer as soon as possible to give yourself the best chance of getting justice.
