San Antonio, TX (December 29, 2023) – The San Antonio Fire Department confirmed that a 62-year-old woman lost her life as a result of a fire incident that occurred on the southeast side of the city early Wednesday morning, December 27. At around 6:00 a.m., calls for assistance came in regarding a fire on Trout Lane.

Preliminary investigations determined that a home located in the 5000 block of the roadway caught on fire during the morning hours. Authorities responded to the scene of the accident and closed off the roadway, which was a short distance from Harmony Elementary School. Authorities were notified immediately that one person may have been trapped inside.

Firefighters went to work quickly on taking control of the blaze, which had flames visible from all sides of the home. Once inside, firefighters located a 62-year-old woman with fatal injuries. One additional adult and one child were also inside with injuries. The two victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care.
