At this time, the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated by the San Antonio Police Department.
We hope those hurt as a result of this crash are able to recover quickly.
Car Accidents in Texas
Auto accidents in Texas occur every single day, leaving countless people with serious injuries that affect every aspect of their lives. Regrettably, we see motor vehicle accidents take place every two minutes that send at least one person to an area hospital with injuries. These accidents add up to hundreds of thousands being reported annually across our state. Although we see so many accidents take place, it is impossible to prepare for the impact that a collision will have on a person’s life.
Regrettably, we see countless people hospitalized with severe trauma to the head, internal organ injuries, and even compound fractures. These and other injuries can have a negative impact on a person’s health and well-being. To make matters even worse, many of the accidents that we see reported in our state are a result of negligence.
Common Causes of Car Crashes
Drivers who engage in reckless and negligent actions are some of the leading causes of vehicle collisions across our state. Leading factors in accidents that we see here in Texas include:
- Speeding: When drivers operate their vehicles at excessive speeds, they run the risk of losing control and crashing into others. Unfortunately, speeding is one of the leading factors in many of the collisions that take place here in southern Texas.
- Impairment: Even though our state has a blood alcohol content level maximum of 0.08 percent, we continue to see drivers get behind the wheel with blood alcohol content levels much higher. When drivers are impaired, they are unable to make responsible decisions and end up crashing their vehicles into others.
- Distractions: Even though we have strict laws in place to prevent drivers from getting behind the wheel and texting or talking on their phones, we continue to see a significant number of people harmed as a result of drivers who do so. Cell phones and other distractions can negatively affect the driver’s ability to maintain control of their vehicle.
If you have been hurt as a result of a car crash due to the negligent or reckless actions of another driver, it is vital that you seek representation as soon as possible.
