San Antonio, TX – One Killed in Pedestrian Crash on S WW White Rd

San Antonio, TX (January 29, 2024) – The San Antonio Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian lost their life as a result of an officer-involved accident that occurred on Friday evening, January 26.

According to official reports, police were attempting to stop two suspects who stole a woman’s vehicle and purse at gunpoint during the evening hours on Friday. Authorities responded to the 200 block of East Martin Street at approximately 8:00 p.m. to assist. The vehicle was tracked via GPS unit, prompting the driver to flee in order to evade the police. While chasing the suspect, the patrol vehicle struck a female pedestrian on South WW White Road. The pedestrian was fatally injured in the accident and pronounced deceased. The suspect, a 17-year-old male, was located and taken into custody by the police. At this time, investigations are underway.
