Truck Accidents in Texas

Truck accidents have the potential to cause severe harm to those involved. Unfortunately, thousands of truck accidents are reported in Texas each year. These accidents often leave victims with severe trauma to the head, broken bones, and other traumatic injuries that change their lives forever. After being hurt in a truck accident, victims often have the ability to initiate legal action. It is important to be able to prove fault and liability in the crash.

Understanding Fault and Liability

Determining fault can be a complex process that involves investigating the circumstances of the accident. This may include gathering evidence such as witness statements, police reports, and any available surveillance footage. It’s important to note that even if you believe you were partially at fault for the accident, you may still be eligible to recover damages under Texas’ comparative negligence law.

Liability refers to legal responsibility for an accident and its resulting damages. In Texas, liability can extend beyond just the driver involved in the accident. Depending on factors such as vehicle ownership or employment status, other parties may also share some level of responsibility.

To establish liability, it must be shown that someone was negligent or acted recklessly, which directly caused your injuries or property damage. This could include actions like distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, or failing to obey traffic laws. To ensure you have the best chance of proving that another party is liable for the accident that left you harmed, it is important for you to seek legal representation from a car accident lawyer right away.
