Austin, TX – One Killed in Crash on US-183 at E William Cannon Blvd

Austin, TX (January 19, 2024) – The Austin Travis County EMS confirmed that one person lost their life as a result of an automobile accident that took place in Travis County. The accident was reported to law enforcement at around 6:58 a.m. on January 18.

Reports provided by authorities indicate that an automobile accident took place in the 7800 block of South US Highway 183. The incident involved two vehicles and blocked a portion of the roadway near East William Cannon Boulevard. A vehicle towing a trailer overturned as a result of the collision. Two people were pinned inside of the vehicle. Authorities located the victims and confirmed that one of them was unconscious. Firefighters went to work quickly on extricating the victims. One of the victims was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, identified as an adult, was rushed to St. David South Hospital with serious injuries. The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
