Auto Accidents in Texas
In the year 2022, Texas witnessed over 244,000 individuals suffering injuries from car accidents. This alarming statistic translates to a reported crash occurring almost every two minutes and an individual getting injured every two minutes and nine seconds.
Despite the frequency of these incidents, the profound impact an automobile accident can have on one’s life remains unpredictable. Preparing for the consequences of an accident can be incredibly challenging.
Those involved in car crashes are often left with serious injuries. These include:
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Severe compound fractures
- Injuries to the spinal cord
- Injuries to internal organs
Unfortunately, any injury can require extensive medical care. We see car crash victims forced to go through both immediate and long-term care for the injuries they suffer. To make matters even worse, many crashes are a result of negligence.
Should I Speak With the Insurance Company After a Crash?
In the aftermath of a car accident, it is paramount to exercise caution when dealing with insurance companies. Avoid making any admissions of fault, as statements made at this stage can have significant implications for your claim. Insurance adjusters may seek to obtain statements that could potentially be used against you in the future, undermining your ability to secure fair compensation. To protect your interests and ensure that your rights are protected, it is strongly recommended to direct all communication with insurance companies to your legal representation. A Texas car accident lawyer will be able to help you communicate with the insurance company and fight for compensation on your behalf.
