Auto Accidents in Texas
Auto crashes are one of the most common causes of injuries and death in Texas. These preventable accidents continue to have a debilitating impact on the lives of those involved. It is common for those involved to be left with spinal cord injuries, broken bones, and severe trauma to the head that requires extensive medical care and interrupts their lives forever.
After being hurt in a car crash, you have the ability to file a personal injury claim against the responsible party. In order to do so successfully, you must be able to demonstrate that negligence existed at the time of the crash.
How Long Do I Have To File a Claim?
In Texas, the statute of limitations for filing a personal injury lawsuit after a car accident is generally two years from the date of the accident. There are also various factors that can shorten the amount of time that you have following an accident. However, it is crucial to act quickly, as missing this deadline can result in the loss of your right to seek compensation.
Contact a Texas car accident lawyer as soon as possible to ensure your rights are preserved and your case is filed within the required timeframe. Your attorney will be able to start an investigation as soon as possible to ensure you have the strongest evidence against the defendant.
