San Antonio, TX (January 4, 2024) – A van transporting a prisoner was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in San Antonio. The accident occurred just after 1030 a.m. on January 3.
Official reports indicate that a van transporting a prisoner was traveling west on Highway 90 during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, it collided with a car that was traveling northbound on Loop 1604. A female in her 30s and the prisoner that was being transported were both injured. The two victims were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for emergency care. Another car traveling through the area swerved to avoid striking the vehicle. As a result, it collided with a crosswalk sign. The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 30s, was not injured. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
We hope the two people hurt in this accident recover quickly.
Car Accidents in Texas
Every year, tens of thousands of vehicle collisions resulting in injuries take place in Texas. Far too often, these preventable accidents leave victims with broken bones, trauma to the head, internal organ injuries, and other serious injuries that require extensive medical care. It is all too common for victims to have to go through months of therapy and rehabilitation in order to overcome their injuries.
In many cases, people are hurt as a result of accidents that are completely preventable. When victims are harmed in these accidents, they may have legal options available.
Common Causes of Texas Crashes
We see many accidents take place here in Texas as a result of drivers who are reckless and negligent. When drivers do not operate their vehicle responsibly, it can have devastating consequences for others around them. Far too often, we see accidents take place as a result of drivers who are speeding. Traveling too fast increases the risks of drivers losing control of their vehicles and striking others.
We also see a significant number of accidents take place as a result of drivers who failed to yield to others. When drivers do not yield to drivers while switching lanes or turning at intersections, it can have deadly consequences. Other common factors include impairment, distractions, and aggressive driving behaviors. If another person’s negligent actions have caused a crash that left you injured, you should seek legal representation from San Antonio car accident lawyer immediately. You may be able to recover financial compensation for your damages.
