Fatal Car Accidents in Texas

Car crashes in Texas take the lives of thousands of people every year. In 2022 alone, more than 4400 people died as a result of crashes on our roadways. Far too often, these accidents are caused by negligent and reckless drivers.

One major cause of car accidents in Texas is distracted driving. We see many accidents take place as a result of drivers who are texting on their phones, calling others, or even eating while behind the wheel. Another common cause of fatal crashes across our state is speeding. Many drivers in Texas have a tendency to exceed the speed limit, especially on highways with high-speed limits under some of our interstates. Speeding reduces a driver’s ability to react quickly to changes in traffic conditions and increases both stopping distance and impact force during collisions.

Drunk driving remains a significant problem in Texas as well. Despite strict laws against intoxicated driving, some individuals still choose to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or drugs. Impaired drivers have slower reaction times and often struggle to maintain control of their vehicles in a responsible manner.

If you have lost a loved one as a result of a fatal car crash, there are options available to help you move forward. You should seek legal representation from a wrongful death lawyer right away.
