Truck Accidents in Texas
Truck accidents take place far too often in Texas. Unfortunately, these accidents are more likely to result in severe injuries for those involved due to the size and weight of the vehicles. Every year, tens of thousands of people are hospitalized with serious injuries that affect their lives forever.
There are countless instances where people are harmed in truck accidents due to drivers who are speeding, fatigued, or distracted while behind the wheel. When a person is injured in a truck accident, they often have legal options available. It is important to understand who can be held accountable for the resulting injuries and damages.
Liability in Truck Crashes
From a legal standpoint, truck accidents tend to be more complex than other forms of motor vehicle collisions. This is due to the fact that several parties can be held liable for any resulting injuries and damages caused by the crash. In most cases, the driver of the truck is subjected to liability due to the accident. This is typically due to the fact that some form of driver error, such as speeding or impairment, contributes to accidents at a significant rate.
In addition to the truck driver, the trucking company, truck owner, cargo company, maintenance company, or even a government entity can be held liable for the resulting damages and injuries. It is vital to have a truck accident lawyer by your side who can conduct an investigation and identify all of the liable parties in your lawsuit.
