How Long Will It Take To Get Money for My Personal Injury Lawsuit?
In the state of Texas, it is relatively unusual for a personal injury case to proceed to trial. Instead, the majority of legal claims are resolved through settlements, whether with the defendant or their insurance company. However, predicting the timeline for reaching a settlement is a challenging task.
Cases that involve substantial injuries and significant compensation demands often take a longer time to settle because insurance companies are often hesitant to pay out large sums to injured parties. The duration for a legal claim to reach a settlement following an accident can vary from several months to several years. Once a settlement agreement is reached, receiving the settlement check usually doesn’t take much time. In many instances, the speed of obtaining compensation depends on how long your attorney takes to prepare a settlement statement for your review and approval.
