Austin, TX – Fatal Crash Reported on S Capital of Texas Highway

Austin, TX (December 8, 2023) – Emergency crews were requested to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident that took place in Austin and claimed one person’s life. Calls for help came in at around 1:00 p.m. on December 7.

According to official reports, a collision between vehicles occurred in the 2400 block of South Capital of Texas Highway. The accident blocked multiple lanes of the southbound side of the roadway near Stoneridge. Four people were involved in the accident. One victim was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated. Multiple victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Three of the victims were transported in critical condition. The fourth victim was declared deceased at the scene. Investigations surrounding the cause of the collision are underway.
