Car Accidents in Texas
Each year, tens of thousands of people are injured in car accidents in Texas. Unfortunately, the majority of these accidents are preventable. Driving under the influence, distracted, or otherwise negligent drivers continue to contribute to many of our state’s accidents.
In the event that you are injured in a car crash, you have the right to seek compensation from the responsible party. This action can help alleviate some of the stress you face during this difficult time.
When Can I Expect To Get Money From My Personal Injury Lawsuit?
It is relatively uncommon for a personal injury case to go to trial in Texas. A majority of legal claims are resolved through settlements, whether with the defendant or their insurance company. It is, however, difficult to predict a settlement timeline.
Lawsuits involving serious injuries and high compensation requests typically have a longer settlement process since insurance companies are reluctant to pay large amounts to the injured party. The timeline for a legal claim to be resolved after an accident can range from a few months to several years. Once a settlement is reached, receiving the payment usually happens relatively quickly. The timeframe for obtaining compensation often relies on how long your truck accident lawyer takes to prepare a settlement statement for your review and approval.
