San Antonio, TX – Two Injured in Car Accident on E Commerce St

San Antonio, TX (May 20, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the San Antonio area early Sunday morning left two people injured. The collision occurred just before 2:00 a.m. on May 19.

According to police reports, a Chevrolet was traveling northbound on Navarro Street during the early morning hours. At the same time, a suspect in a Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on East Commerce Street. The driver of the Nissan ran a red light and crashed into the Chevrolet. Two people in the Chevrolet were injured. The victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Authorities determined that the driver of the Nissan, who fled on foot, was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The driver was booked into the Bexar County adult detention center, where they face charges of driving while intoxicated and two additional counts for collision involving injury. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
