San Antonio, TX – Multi-Vehicle Bus Crash with Injuries on I-35

San Antonio, TX (April 14, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the San Antonio area and ended in injuries. The crash was reported to the police at around 10:30 p.m. on April 12.

According to official reports, an automobile accident occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 35. Reports show that multiple vehicles, including a bus, collided on the roadway near Southcross Boulevard on the south side of San Antonio. Further investigations found that a Toyota Matrix was traveling north on the highway when the vehicle crashed into the center median. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to enter the middle lane.

A bus was traveling on the highway and swerved to avoid striking the Toyota. As a result, the bus collided with the Chevrolet Silverado and a Toyota Corolla. The Silverado then struck a wall and rolled over onto its side. A 26-year-old woman was severely injured in the crash. She was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital. Authorities determined that the driver of the matrix fled the scene of the crash without stopping. At this time, the incident is under investigation.

We hope the injured woman recovers quickly following this accident.

Car Accidents in Texas

A motor vehicle accident can have an overwhelming impact on your life. Regrettably, tens of thousands of people across Texas are severely injured as a result of vehicle collisions every year. In many cases, these accidents are a result of reckless and negligent drivers. We see many people injured in crashes on our roadways caused by drivers who are impaired by alcohol, distracted, or speeding. After being hurt in a motor vehicle accident, there are several steps that you need to take to protect your rights and best interests.

Establishing Fault in Texas

Should you opt to pursue a personal injury claim subsequent to a car crash, you must demonstrate that the defendant was the catalyst for the collision. In Texas, a modified comparative negligence statute is in place, potentially impeding your ability to recover losses.

The court might assign fault percentages to all involved parties, potentially reducing your compensation by the percentage attributed to your own negligence. If your assigned fault equals or exceeds 51%, you might be ineligible for any compensation.

This underscores the critical importance of promptly seeking legal representation from a San Antonio car accident attorney. Doing so can bolster your chances of pursuing the full compensation you rightly merit.
