Car Accidents in Texas

Each year, numerous individuals in Texas find themselves as victims of car accidents. These incidents are so frequent that hundreds of Texans suffer from injuries due to collisions every day. Victims who sustain serious injuries often face hefty financial challenges, including the burden of substantial medical expenses while being incapacitated to work and generate income.

To address the mental, physical, and emotional repercussions of automobile accidents, victims are urged to pursue legal remedies through personal injury lawsuits. Initiating a personal injury claim could be pivotal in securing comprehensive compensation for medical bills, both immediate and future, along with other losses. It is critical to act within the designated statute of limitations to preserve your rights effectively.

Understanding the Statute of Limitations

In Texas, individuals looking to file a legal claim must do so within two years from the incident date. This two-year period is the general rule for personal injury claims in the state, though there are exceptions to this rule.

For instance, if the legal action involves a government entity, the claim must be filed within six months following the accident, diverging from the typical two-year timeline for personal injury cases. Seeking help from a well-informed Texas personal injury lawyer can clarify the specific deadlines relevant to filing a claim after your accident.
