Bastrop Co., TX (February 29, 2024) – One person lost their life in a motor vehicle accident reported on Wednesday morning in Bastrop County. On February 28, the Texas Department of Public Safety was notified of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 71.
DPS reports indicate that a vehicle was traveling east on the highway when it T-boned a second vehicle that was attempting to cross the roadway near Enchanted Cove. The vehicles were severely damaged as a result of the accident. At least one had to be towed from the scene. One person involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by authorities. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the accident is under investigation.
