Car Accidents in Texas

Car crashes are reported daily across the state of Texas. Far too often, these accidents leave those involved with severe injuries that affect their lives forever. Unfortunately, there are countless instances where car crash victims have to go through extensive medical treatment and have their lives interrupted forever.

After being hurt in a car crash, it is common for victims to have to face significant financial consequences. We see many victims left with tens of thousands of dollars in medical care costs, lost wages, and vehicle repair expenses. To help alleviate the impact that these and other financial burdens can have, victims are encouraged to take legal action. Filing a personal injury claim is one of the best ways to recover the compensation that you need to alleviate some of the stress related to the financial impacts.

What is the Statute of Limitations?

In Texas, it’s essential to take legal action following an accident, but the timing is crucial. The timeframe within which you must file a personal injury or wrongful death claim is known as the statute of limitations. In Texas, this statute is set at two years from the date of the accident.

While there are a few exceptions to this rule, seeking legal representation immediately after the accident is vital to ensure your claim is filed within the allotted time. Failing to file your lawsuit within the statute of limitations could result in being unable to recover any compensation for your losses and damages.
