Car Accidents in Texas
Car accidents can be quite devastating. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people are left with severe injuries as a result of collisions in Texas each year. Far too often, these crashes are caused by negligent and reckless drivers. We often see victims left with serious trauma to the head, broken bones, and other serious injuries due to drivers who fail to control their vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Unfortunately, any type of driver negligence can have devastating consequences.
What are Some Leading Causes of Texas Crashes?
Texas car crashes can take place for a variety of reasons. In the vast majority of incidents, some form of driver error or negligence contributed to it taking place. Some of the common causes of car crashes include:
- Impairment: Drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol are likely to lose control of their vehicles and crash into others. Being impaired impacts a driver’s judgment, coordination, and their ability to make responsible decisions quickly.
- Speeding: Traveling too fast can lead to drivers losing control of their vehicles and striking others. Unfortunately, speeding accidents often result in more severe injuries to those involved.
- Distractions: When drivers are texting on their phones, eating, talking to passengers, changing their radio, and engaging in other reckless actions, they are not paying attention to the road ahead. As a result, they are likely to crash into other vehicles nearby.
When drivers do not operate their vehicles in a safe manner, it can have devastating consequences. Unfortunately, there are countless instances where these and other negligent actions cause crashes to occur. If you have been hurt as a result of a negligent driver, you should seek legal representation from a Texas car accident lawyer right away.
