Car Accidents in Texas

Automobile accidents occur far too often in Texas. Unfortunately, more than 200,000 people are injured as a result of these accidents every year. A significant number of accidents reported in the state occur at intersections. These accidents account for tens of thousands of injury accidents in nearly 32 percent of all fatal crashes reported statewide.

There are many reasons why accidents occur at intersections. Many of these accidents take place as a result of drivers who are distracted, drivers who run red lights, and drivers who pass stop signs. Unfortunately, the consequences of a car crash can be disastrous.

How Do I Determine Who Is at Fault for the Car Accident?

After sustaining injuries in an automobile accident, you have the ability to file a personal injury lawsuit. In order to do so successfully, you must be able to demonstrate fault. Proving fault can be challenging. When it comes to motor vehicle accidents, this will generally require you to prove that the defendant owed you a duty of care and they breached it. The breach of the duty could be caused by a driver speeding, driving while impaired, or another reckless action.

After proving that a breach occurred, you must be able to demonstrate that the breach caused the accident and that you have suffered injuries. Even though this seems like an easy task, insurance companies will do everything possible to blame you for any resulting injuries and damages. This makes it important for you to seek legal representation as soon as possible from a dedicated car accident lawyer.
