Austin, TX (November 11, 2023) – Officers with the Austin Police Department assisted emergency medical services at the scene of an automobile accident that took place on Thursday morning and ended with injuries.
At around 2:00 a.m. on November 9, the Austin Travis County EMS was notified that they were needed at the scene of a crash that took place on North Mopac Expressway.
According to official reports, a collision took place in the 9600 block of the roadway, blocking multiple southbound lanes. The incident prompted authorities to close down a portion of the highway near Research Boulevard.
Emergency medical services provided care to the injured victims. Two emergency medical service units were requested on site. One victim was transported to Dell Seton Hospital with critical and life-threatening injuries. A second victim was treated for injuries. However, it is not known whether they were transported to a local hospital for further care.
At this time, investigations are underway.
